US universities offer a wide range of Graduate Programs to international students. This webinar is designed to provide information on the application process to US universities with a focus on discussing options for Algerian students. The focus will be on the selection of a graduate program of interest, the application process, admission requirements and timeline, as well as options to secure scholarships and assistantships. The audience will have a chance to interact with the speakers towards the end of the session to ask specific questions that pertain to the admission process. Speakers

Lakhdar Boukerrou, Ph.D.

Dr. Boukerrou serves as the CEC’s Director of International Programs and Global Initiative and is an Affiliate Faculty in the African and African Diaspora Studies at the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs. Prior to joining FIU, Dr. Boukerrou was at Florida Atlantic University where he served as a Manager/Coordinator Research Programs at the Center for Environmental Studies, Research Professor in the Department of Geosciences, and Adjunct Professor in the College of Business.

Mohamed Belhadi

Dr. Belhadi is a Graduate Research Assistant pursuing a PhD degree in Auburn University, USA on the reliability of electronics operating in harsh environments. He works in collaboration with AREA (Advanced Research in Electronic Assemblies) to study the effect of doping on the mechanical properties of electronics interconnections. He is also part of NSF CAVE (Center for Advanced Vehicle and Extreme environment), where he is conducting various research projects related to the automotive industry.

Samir Aouadi, Ph.D.

Dr. Aouadi is an Associate Professor in the department of materials science and engineering at the University of North Texas and is the Associate Chair for graduate studies. He received a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C., Canada. His research expertise is in surface science and engineering for space, aerospace, energy, defense, and biomedical applications. He has pioneered research on high-temperature tribological coatings with a focus on ternary oxides, adaptive coatings, and self-healing ceramics. He has published 105 papers in refereed journals and has received over $3.5 M in funding from the Department of Defense, the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Health, and industry.
