Fatima Brakta, Pharm.D, BCPS

Dr. Fatima Brakta is a Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Director of a PGY1 (Post-Graduate Year
1) Pharmacy Residency Program at East Jefferson General Hospital (EJGH).

Dr. Brakta also holds a Gratis appointment with Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans as a Clinical Assistant Professor. She is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

Dr. Brakta obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree at Xavier University of Louisiana and completed a PGY1 in pharmacy practice residency at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans in 2007. She worked as a clinical pharmacist for two years and then transitioned into academia as a Clinical Assistant professor at Xavier University College of Pharmacy for five years.

In 2014, she joined University Medical Center of New Orleans where she worked as their infectious diseases clinical pharmacist and co-coordinated the hospital’s Antimicrobial Stewardship program and was eventually promoted to Clinical pharmacy manager.
