Meriem Belabed

Postdoctoral fellow (Icahn school of Medecine at Mount Sinai; USA), Chair of the science working group (AAASTE)

Meriem is a postdoctoral fellow, working with Dr. Miriam Merad’s team at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York on research focusing on the innate immune system to develop novel therapies against cancer.

Beside her work at the lab, she takes great pleasure in sharing her knowledge and experience with colleagues at Algerian universities leading to the creation of the ImmuNOfrontiers project.

This project has been an incredible opportunity for the extension of her love of teaching on a larger scale helping the development of Algerian academic research in Immunology and supporting its future, the young biology students, and building bridges through various activities including conferences led by international researchers, regular workshops, as well as helping ambitious students to participate in prestigious international programs. Meriem joined
recently AAASTE, she takes care of the science working group.

She holds a PhD in Immunology from the University of Paris Descartes, Master Degree in Immunology and Immunopathology from the University of Pierre et Marie Curie, and a Master Degree in Immunology from the University of Blida, Algeria.
