On December 21, the President of AAASTE visited the University of Tissemsilt for a productive day of engagement with the university’s leadership and faculty. The visit began with a meeting with the Recteur, during which the AAASTE President discussed the strategic priorities of the association and explored avenues for collaboration to strengthen the university’s academic and professional programs. Following the meeting, the President delivered a lecture on Knowledge Management and Sharing, highlighting best practices in capturing, disseminating, and leveraging institutional knowledge to foster innovation, enhance research impact, and support evidence-based decision-making within higher education institutions.
After the lecture, the AAASTE President met with the university’s leadership team and faculty representatives from various departments. The discussion focused on potential collaborative projects to be launched in early 2026, designed to enhance student learning, faculty development, and institutional excellence. Among the initiatives proposed were the creation of Public Speaking Clubs to help students build confidence, communication, and presentation skills; the reinforcement of the BLEU program, aimed at preparing students for job applications, interviews, and professional engagement; and the establishment of a Center for Excellence in Writing to support faculty and students in developing high-quality academic and professional writing skills.
The visit underscored AAASTE’s commitment to fostering partnerships between academic institutions and professional development initiatives in Algeria. By sharing expertise and identifying concrete projects, the association seeks to contribute to the university’s mission of academic excellence, student success, and institutional capacity building. The meeting concluded with a shared vision for implementing these initiatives in 2026, paving the way for sustainable collaboration that strengthens both the university and the broader academic and professional community.
