Ishak Zakaria Madani

Mr. Ishak Zakaria Madani is a leading researcher and emerging global authority in geologic hydrogen production, climate change, and energy transition systems. He is currently a researcher in Petroleum Engineering at Texas Tech University (TTU), working on a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)-funded project in collaboration with Stanford University, the University of Houston, and other major institutions. He also serves as Regional Director for Africa with the IPHE ECN.

Previously, he served under the Prime Minister’s office of Algeria at the former Commission for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency. He is also an expert with the IPCC and the founder of the Network of the Algerian Youth Diaspora in Academia NAYDA) in the United States.

He graduated with honors from USTHB (University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene) in Algeria in sustainable development engineering, and he leads a carbon-negative geologic hydrogen project within the HOPE Group, quantifying the potential of natural hydrogen in the United States and the MENA region.
