In order for institutions of higher education to meet their stated mission and goals, they must ensure continuous organizational improvement. The effectiveness of an institution is not measured by what is taught, but rather by what students have learned. This presentation will focus on student learning outcomes, a process that involves gathering and interpreting information to learn how well the program is performing and using that information to make changes to the program to improve student performance. This is the first of a two-part series that focuses on institutional effectiveness. Part two will cover the program review process.
