Lakhdar Boukerrou, Ph.D.

Dr. Boukerrou has extensive experience in project management, financial management, research and training program design, monitoring and evaluation, as well as institutional and human capacity building.

Dr. Boukerrou has implemented a large number of research and development projects in the areas of water, environment and agriculture, and the impacts of climate change in several countries, on behalf of the United Nations, the World Bank, USAID, etc. He has supervised a large number of students from several countries, which is one of his favorite activities.

Dr. Boukerrou has excellent skills in creating collaborations leading to the development of fruitful and sustainable partnerships. Dr. Boukerrou has extensive intercultural experience and an understanding of private, nonprofit, and academic environments. These professional experiences have given Dr. Boukerrou a unique perspective on human resource management as well as local, regional, and international development.

He has held various leadership positions in private, nonprofit, governmental, and academic institutions. He is also active within the Algerian community in the USA, where he is currently President of the Algerian American Association for Science, Technology and Entrepreneurship. Dr. Boukerrou has held the position of Director of International Programs and Global Initiatives, as well as Research Professor at the College of Engineering and Computing, and Affiliate Professor with the African and African Diaspora Studies Program at the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs at Florida International University, Miami, USA.
