Ikhlas Abed

Ikhlas is a Fulbright Scholar currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Studies at the University of North Texas, specializing in Human Security and Sustainable Development. With over five years of experience as a Humanitarian and Development Project Manager, Ikhlas has worked with Humanity & Inclusion (formerly Handicap International), the World Food Program, and the International Committee for the Development of Peoples.

Most recently, she served as the Civil Society and Institutional Coordinator at the French Embassy, where she played a key role in strengthening partnerships between Algerian and French institutions and civil society organizations. Her experience also includes working in emergency and crisis response within the Sahrawi refugee camps, contributing to the effective delivery of aid and support in high-stress environments, particularly for education centers serving disabled children.

Beyond professional work, Ikhlas is a passionate volunteer, actively engaging with individuals in vulnerable situations, particularly women and children. Fluent in Spanish, French, Arabic, and English, she leverage[s] multilingual skills to foster cross-cultural collaboration.
